You can make your own homemade dog house heater but it is not recommended if you are not an electrician. You need to be sure that you have a safe warm environment for your pet and unless you know what you are doing you could cause a hazard with a homemade contraption.

You are better off using a well known tried and tested hound heater or a dog house heating pad. Kennel heating pads have thermostats which you can set to a comfortable cozy setting.

The hound heater is a bit different than the heating pads or heated dog bed in that it has a heating element and heat shield that provide a an even comfortable temperature at all times in your dog's home.
